I'm in NY. I'll root for these guys against anybody except Immortals and whatever team gets Seagull.
The EnVY vs. IMM match hasn't even started yet, and I think it's already exceeded the max viewer count of the previous matches...
Esper was the problem! Never forget! Kappa
This is probably the most exciting Overwatch match I've ever seen. So much back and forth!
Every single one of your comments could simply consist of nothing but "I don't have high hopes".
Sweet! Now let's get a couple EU teams, please!
At this stage, I think that's pretty good. Also, that's only the English stream. Across all the streams, there are more than 90k viewers on Twitch.
As a Western viewer who loves watching OW but does not follow any Korean teams particularly closely, the seemingly never-ending karaoke bit after the first match certainly put a strain on my patience. It felt like a serious momentum killer to me, though I'm sure it was a lot more amusing for those more familiar with the scene. Of course it didn't help that I was completely exhausted after spending the entire night in the ER (helping a friend, I wasn't injured) either.
Since Doomfist is currently locked out of competitive mode, I bet any two teams (or just groups of players) that wanted to stream some scrims could get some pretty big viewership numbers right now. Just sayin'.
I would presume that most of the money that most OWL orgs make will be in the form of advertising, sponsorships, and in-game merchandising.
Yep, that was loads of fun to watch.
Between all the different streams, I'm impressed by the number of viewers this is getting, especially given the hour (in NA).
We did it bois! OWL is guaranteed success now!
If this thread gets to two pages, OWL is guaranteed to be a success! PogChamp
More seriously, I live about 1 hour from New York City. I don't care what team the NY owner gets, you can be damn sure that I'll be attending some of those live events, once they start!
As far as I can recall, earlier rumors about OWL suggested that it would initially be NA only. Obviously it's a bummer that there are no EU teams announced yet, but the fact that there are any teams at all outside of NA is a bonus IMO.
I just want to see LG Evil do better after their disappointing early departure from Contenders.
I"m honestly not sure whether I should boo or applaud that headline.
For the record, Left Guy and ZP are saying that in OW Contenders Season 1, all matches will be streamed. They talk about some of the limitations and competing goals with Season O during today's OverView stream:

This discussion occurs around the 60-70 minute mark.
Add me to the chorus of people who agree with this entirely. While, I have enjoyed the quality of (most) of the matches I've had a chance to watch, the quantity and timing of stream-able games has been pretty awful. Major improvements on that front are desperately needed.
b1am looked pretty solid when he was playing with Kelvin and the Chipmunks. I'd love to see NRG give him a shot.
Sir, I believe what you meant to say was, "J3sus take the wheel."
Kappa
Obviously have no idea how the match actually went (sigh), but 2-2 seems like a pretty impressive performance by Kungarna.
While we definitely appreciate all your heroic efforts (and memes!), it is still disappointing that Blizzard chose not to stream more of these matches.
Edit: corrected shitty grammar
Would be really nice to see these guys succeed.
People were predicting twitch chat would be triggered, but I don't think anybody expected it would be because of this.
Understatement. I'd barely heard of Injustice before today, and now I feel nothing but aggravation toward it.
Seagull didn't stream today. :thinking
This has nothing to do with Reddit and everything to do with Dafran's behavior.
Damn, I was hoping we'd get to watch this one.
Seems like Selfless were trying to take Anubis point B with pure mechanical skill only, no tactics or strategy. Their ult usage was bizarrely awful.
I'm glad RNG and Kungarna are in.
I don't think it was "close" with Selfless exactly, but it was certainly respectable.
NRG could disband the current roster and pick up...Kelvin and the Chipmunks!
RNG almost threw with worst ult economy ever. Still, I'm glad they pulled it out.
They weren't lying about how hard they've been practicing. HOLY SHIT.
Not gonna lie - I'm hyped beyond reason to see Selfless back in action.
The shear amount of sincerity in that video makes it impossible for me to root against CLG now.
We going to get to watch this match?
No. Please elaborate.
Feels like forever since I saw RNG in a tournament. HYPE!
The ending to Volskaya was one of the crazier OW things I've seen.
Let's just say I very much hope you're right!
Voted for ZP, Doa, and Monte.
And remain...Admirable.
And yet...scoreboard.
Perhaps I spoke too soon.
NRG seem to be finding at least a bit of a groove now.
