Yong has been a member of the Element Mystic coaching staff since November of 2018. Element Mystic never finished outside of the top two of any tournament in which he was a coach for them. That run include one Contenders title and victories at the Pacific Showdown and the Contenders Gauntlet.

He will reunite with DPS Doha on the Dallas Fuel, who was signed by the Fuel from Element Mystic earlier this offseason. The Fuel have no other Element Mystic representatives on the team.

The Fuel now have four coaches overall. Two of their coaches, Jayne and daemoN, left the team earlier this offseason. The Fuel coaching staff includes two North American coaches and two Korean coaches. Yong is the first new addition to the Fuel coaching staff this offseason.

Yong is the second Element Mystic coach to join an Overwatch League team this offseason. The team's head coach, Rush, joined the Paris Eternal as their head coach in October. Four Element Mystic players and two coaches have moved up to the Overwatch League over the past few months.

The Fuel are coming off a season in which they finished 10-18. They've finished with a losing record in both seasons they have competed within the Overwatch League.

Their first match of the 2020 season is February 8 against the Valiant.
