SP9RK1E joins the team after previously playing with Element Mystic in Contenders. He and his teammates had a phenomenal 2019 in which they won titles in Contenders Korea, the Pacific Showdown and the Contenders Gauntlet. The only time they fell short of a championship in 2019 was in the second season of Contenders Korea. They finished second in that tournament.
A lot of excitement surrounds his joining of the Overwatch League as he was regarded as one of the best DPS players in Contenders, if not the best.
Despite the excitement, SP9RK1E will not play for the Eternal right out the gate. He does not turn 18 until May 31, 2020 and thus will not be eligible to play until then.
His signing accompanies the addition of several coaches to the Eternal coaching staff. This includes his head coach from Element Mystic, Rush, who will now be the head coach of the Eternal.
