The announcement indicates that the team option on Gods' contract was not picked up, releasing him from his contract and allowing him to be a free agent. Every player on the Defiant roster is subject to a team option.
Gods joined the Defiant in May alongside main tank sharyk. He played for the Defiant in Stages 3 and 4.
His addition was not enough to turn around a Defiant team that was struggling to get wins. After a 2-5 Stage 2 that brought the Defiant down to a 7-7 overall record, the Defiant only won one more match in the remainder of the season.
The Defiant have no off-tanks on their roster and will need to add a new one.
