A maximum of 64 teams can play in the qualifier, which will take place on September 21. The top three will earn prizing and the top four will enter the Rumble. The Rumble will take place on September 22. More details regarding the Rumble have yet to be released.
Rivalcade hosted weekly tournaments in North America and Europe between February and April of 2017. Those tournaments featured a number of players who later on joined the Overwatch League, including 2019 OWL MVP sinatraa. sinatraa won the first two North American Rivalcade Weeklies with Selfless Gaming.
While those tournaments offered prize pools between $500 USD and $750 USD, Rivalcade also hosted larger tournaments back in 2017. The first of which was the $10,000 USD Rivalcade Overwatch Rumble in April that featured 16 teams after a pair of qualifiers. The second was the $5,000 USD Rivalcade Memorial Day Rumble in late May. That also featured 16 after a singular qualifier.
Rivalcade ran no Overwatch tournaments in 2018. This is their first tournament of 2019.
