Three North American teams, two European teams and one South American team will compete in a double-elimination bracket. The top team from North America East and the top team from North America West will receive automatic invites, while the second place team in each region will play each other to determine the third North American representative.
All matches in both Showdowns will be first-to-three, except for the grand final in both tournaments. Those will be first-to-five matches.
The bottom two finishers in each Showdown will lose a spot for their region in the Gauntlet later this year. That means if a North American team finishes fifth or sixth in the Atlantic Showdown, two North American teams will be invited to the Gauntlet rather than three. Additionally, the winner of each Showdown will earn an additional spot for their region. This means if a North American team wins the Atlantic Showdown, four North American teams will be invited to the gauntlet rather than three.
This means 10 teams in total will be invited to the Gauntlet. The Gauntlet will be played between October 9 and October 13.
