Translation: I [would like to] explain the activity of DeToNator Overwatch.
I want to say thank you to Overwatch, which began in 2016 and had a big influence on the team. Overwatch gave us opportunity to challenge oversea tournaments and find good friends. Thank you.
We finally won Overwatch Contenders. However, the current vision of Overwatch, which Blizzard advances at the present moment, is very severe for us. We want to continue in Overwatch, but managing teams in this situation is so hard. However, if Blizzard will change in some way from now, we will consider coming back to the Overwatch scene.
I want to say thanks to the players and staff. I would like to write articles about Overwatch again some day.
GOLD was one of the two Japanese sister teams created from the original DeToNator team alongside BLACK in February of 2017. They were invited to the inaugural season of the Pacific Championship, but saw very little success as they placed 7th in the tournament.
The organization’s KOREA lineup was later formed that year in June, and replaced GOLD’s spot in the promotion tournament for the Pacific Championship Season 2, only to fall short on a spot. After moving back to Korea as they qualified for and competed in APEX Challengers Season 5, the roster moved back to the Pacific in 2018 for the region’s Road to Pro circuit, going on a tear as they won the Open Division Season 1, topped the standings in the Trials to qualify for Contenders Pacific, and took Contenders by storm as they topped their group in the group stage flawlessly and dropped only two maps in the playoffs to claim the trophy.
