The move comes after CONBOX's second successive season in which they failed to earn a victory in the quarterfinals. Despite receiving significant amounts of criticism from Korean fans following the release of Twilight and Gamsu before APEX Season 4, CONBOX managed to match their previous performance and advance to the quarterfinals. However, the team's struggles saw them miss out on the semifinals yet again.
The organisation stated that they will now reevaluate their position in the Korean Overwatch scene in 2018. If CONBOX fail to retain three players from their Season 4 roster they will sacrifice their seed in Season 5, as per tournament regulations.
The CONBOX roster was:
- Choi "Asher" Joon-seong (DPS/Coach)
- Park "Architect" Min-ho (DPS)
- Lee "SleepyBear" Geum-yong (DPS)
- Son "OGE" Min-Seok (Tank)
- Seo "Clover" Ji-Won (Tank)
- Park "Oparochi" Hyun-joon (Support)
- An "Revenge" Hyeong-Geun (Support)
- Shin "DongSu" Dong Soo (Coach)
