I must say I usually just breeze over them and look for main points, but I am glad you are making them :) Great work.
You can record with any high quality program.. Shadowplay or Fraps f.x. Just try to get the highest quality and FPS available to you and your computer.
Hey, I make fragmovies!
I am looking to make a Widowmaker fragmovie and need some footage. If you'd like to star in it, upload your recordings and send it to me here. I'd greatly appreciate it!
The movie will feature upbeat music synced to the footage, some visual effects to make it nice, perhaps a bit of cinematic experimentation and a player bar, so you'll get credit for your awesome play.
Here's my channel with some of my previous Overwatch pro POTG highlight videos:

Keep in mind that I'll be putting a lot more work into this new Widowmaker movie, to make it a better viewing experience.
Best regards,

I feel like making frag videos is a bit difficult right now because you can't do much with the HUD, and it takes up all this space making this look shitty. Great video, but these HUDs make it almost impossible to appreciate the beauty of the game.
I definitely agree. I long for the day where I can customize and record myself.
I think you're pretty much at the cap of what's possible without having demos/ingame playbacks. One idea might be to get the people streaming to enable local recording for improved quality while we don't have access to demos. I'd like to see what you could do with some cinematic smooths, to break up the raw gameplay a bit.
I am already talking to some people from the higher level of competitive Overwatch about using their recordings for fragmovies. However, the amount of content will fall, since I won't have nearly as many clips to choose from. Still.. quality over quantitiy, right?
Unfortunately there isn't much to be done until a proper demo/replay system is introduced. The best you can do right now is have someone record from spectator in game running all max settings, which has it's own issues of things like latency inaccuracy and no client sound (I think). The sound is pretty superb in the game, especially the little hit boops are Kreygasm. As others said, more control over the HUD is also needed.
Yeah, I would need to be reliant on others for that since my computer is not capable of such (I'd get shit FPS). Thanks for your insight though, appreciated :)
Looking forward to see them play, especially duwatna.
Hi! My name is sheep, and I love making videos, which is why I have thrown myself into the new and exciting science of making Overwatch fragmovies (highlights/compilations).
I am writing today in hopes of hearing your thoughts on how I do it now, and how you'd think it could be better. My current process is that I first gather all the Play of the Game highlights from a given event, then I mix it and match it to music (trying my best to synchronize it for a more epic experience) and lastly, I manually add gun sounds to all the action.
Here is an example of how my last one went (remember to watch in 1080p):

And the associated Sony Vegas project timeline:

So my questions for you today is: did you like it? Would you prefer if I, with my subjective opinion, filtered and only used the best of the best plays, or do you like that all POTG's are included? Would you like to have a few cinematic smooths of the maps that is being played, to make it more .. yeah, cinematic? Any other thoughts on the matter? If you have the time, please watch all the way through, I'd really appreciate an overall opinion.
I would like to note that I do this for fun and for us to have a place with highlights from the pro scene. I do not make money off the videos, as it is currently featuring other people's stream VOD's.
Best regards,
sheep
Inspired by the 1 hero limit rule in the GosuGamers tournament yesterday, I'd like to hear what your thoughts are on the subject. How should competitive Overwatch be played? Should a Goggles and Glasses strategy be possible?
Really enjoyed it, and the music complimented the fast-paced clips. Keep it up.
It's very empty once inside a thread which I dislike, but otherwise I think it is rather good.
I love the simplicity and how clean it is. Keep it this way and just polish.
