When I was a wee one I capitalize it "OpLaiD" because DoInG ThIs wAs cOoL wHeN YoU'Re 12. But that made everyone pronounce it "op - laid" when it's supposed to be "o - plaid". So I switched it up as a bit of a pronunciation guide. I also hate the way that capital O looks, and just going with oplaid would cause people to capitalize it when they wrote sentences or headlines. So we're at oPlaiD, which looks a lot more balanced than oPlaid, if I'm going to introduce a random capitalization, which is now the most common error when people write it out.
