Sideshow, I don't think that Runaway is genuinely better team than LW RED. It was a major upset that sometime happened in Sports scene(It's like when some weak football club got matched aginst "Manchester UTD or CITY", if you are into football XD)

Firstly, in terms of Offline qualification, 64 teams were selected after online tournament.
They divided into two days( Day 1 with 32 teams, Day 2 with 32 teams)

Day 1, 32 teams were separated to 4 different Groups(Group A with 8 teams, Group B with 8 teams... and so on) and 8 teams had only one match each other.

4 teams which ranked 1st in their groups automatically qualified to the APEX(1st in Group A, 1st in Group B, ...)
and other 4 teams who ranked 2nd in their groups had a play-off match to qualify to the APEX(Only two teams was able to qualify to the APE) --------- > finally, 6 Teams to APEX(1st division) are decided (4 teams with 1st rank + 2 teams with 2nd rank)

and then, other 2 teams(2nd ranked) who failed to qualify to the APEX directly go to the APEX CHALLENGERS(basically, its 2nd division league in Korea) with 4 different teams who ranked 3rd in Group stages
-------------> 6 Teams to APEX challengers(2nd division) are decided (2 teams with 2nd ranked + 4 teams with 3rd ranked)

p.s. there was a issue of monitor setting. The qualification hosted in Korean PC CAFE and the café couldn't afford to support 144hz monitors(which are really important in FPS game) but only 60hz monitors. Majority of players were used to use 144hz monitors so they complained about the issue but OGN turned down their complain. That's probably affected to some upsets, but still "ALL" of players used 60hz monitors so there shouldn't be an excuse.

It was interesting that there are "four" amateur team qualified to the APEX(T6, Run Away, FLASH RUX, BK Stars). Most members of the team consisted of high ranker with over 4000++ so they were probably as good as other professional team but no one in Korea expected that they were "this" good... Quite interesting situation ....

In result of this, APEX Challengers(2nd division), you would find some famous teams(LW RED, Afreeca Freecs Red, Rhinos Gaming Wings, Quix, and so on...) and that would make 2nd division more competitive and interesting :)

TO be honest, EHOME didn't show any achievement in Korean overwatch scene. They have their reputation only by "Geguri" issue. As far as real tournament comes out, it's turned out that Ehome was not that strong team. They didn't even qualify for 2nd division

LW RED failed to qualify 1st division after defeated by some amateur team called "Run away"(One of the members is famous Korean streamer called "Runner", not Overwatch professional). Amateur team beating LW RED was breaking news in Korean community. LW RED will play in 2nd division. So as "Afreeca Freecs RED"

I am native Korean so pardon my poor English please. Feel free to ask any question about Korean OW scene :)
