Unfortunate, he was doing some work on that team. Jaru is quite the beast himself so we can't quite count them out. Looking forward to see if it's enough to get them past Liquid since they're the clear underdogs here.

Yeah I'm pretty sure I remember Mangachu being the only Canadian on RNG.
On another note, I hope this move allows them to keep going strong and not succumb to the late tournament dips they've been having.
I see, I like this a lot, the mentally tough teams will be even tougher now.
The first set of matches will not, only the semis and the finals will.
Edit: They added one quarterfinals match for each region on the Contenders schedule. We get to see RNG vs FNRGFE, both semis and the finals.
This is showing up as a Bo7 everywhere I look but every time the APEX caster talk about it they mention the finals being the only Bo7. If it doesn't indeed end up being a Bo7 I'd still give the edge to KDP since nV has looked like they've had trouble adjusting to though opponents on the fly. I think nV gets two maps, possibly three but I'll be rooting for them to win this regardless.
Bo7:
KDP 4-2(3) nV
What I'm hoping for:
KDP 2-4 nV, or any nV win.
I'm not sure why this is listed as Bo7, as far as I know this should be Bo5.
But you're correct, if it is Bo7:
My prediction:
AFB 4-3 LH
What I'm actually hoping for:
AFB 3-4 LH, or any LH win.
This is the youtube version of The Overview:

If you haven't had a chance to watch the twitch version please try and see at least one of them. I hope it instills some hope/faith that Season 0 wasn't meant to be what we expected it to be, and that Season 1 is where things really take off.
Not to take anything away from this article because I think it played a big part in them adjusting the schedule, but as they've shown we also don't have line of sight into what goes on behind the scene and realistically this should provide some level of insight on why we didn't get to see we all felt at what we should have.
Note that's about 1:30min long, but well worth it in my opinion.
Happy viewing!
I don't mind being proven wrong though. I'd be more than happy to see you guys win this, I just assumed otherwise with the limited information I have.
Top 500 level bants right there, bravo sir, bravo.

Over.gg, making shit happen in Overwatch.
This has the potential of being a very good match depending on how you look at it.
One one side AFB has been crushing all their opponents and have yet to lose a map so giving them the edge makes sense. Add to that the WhoRU situation and their chances should arguably be increased even further.
On the other hand you can also suppose that the lack of competition puts them at a disadvantage vs a team that is known for their mental fortitude and coming back from some very dire situations on top of being returning champions and just a solid team overall.
As for the playewr situation, I think that LH is stronger with WHoRU even with the performance they had vs LWB. For the record I don't think the latter was at full power because of the whole Janus thing so there's that. I also still don't think AFB's been properly challenged and if my favorite Korean Genji is back in the mix LH have a solid chance of making this a real competition and possibly even winning.
In conclusion though I'm forced to give the edge to AFB because of the fact that they've yet to lose a single map, but I fully believe this will go all the way if we include WhoRU. I don't know if the results would be the same with Gido if he's in but I can only hope for the best.
My prediction:
AFB 3-2 LH
What I'm actually hoping for:
AFB 2-3 LH, or any LH win.
Other than Team Liquid's arguably free pass to Contenders Season 1 the brackets are looking mighty competitive! This gon' be gud.
Some of the teams here have changed since the before contenders so we might get to see a different trend but in the end I gotta give this to Rogue. Other than our Korean overlords no one seems to have figured out a reliable way to beat them.
I'm still hoping for a surprise challenge if not an upset though.
Liquid dropped, not the other way around.
I think if EFFECT can get to the back lines they have a chance at winning this. Lack of defending their supports led to KDP losing their first match vs LH and the Mighty AOD one.
In the end though I have to give the edge to KDP because they've been battle tested a bit more this season in my opinion
Bo5:
KDP 3-2 nV
I still don't think that AFB has had a proper challenge this tournament even though they do look really strong. But I do agree that they have the advantage if WhoRU is still suspended. Otherwise I think it should be a solid match.
The semi finals will be quite fun to watch imo.
Playoffs are looking real good. Excited too see how this unfolds!
Because of the time zones the NA games would end late and the EU games would start early leaving little time in between for casters and crew.
Finals show up as midnight eastern time for me:
But still, I don't understand how they wouldn't just start earlier. Such a mess.
There's still a prize pool of 50k for season 0, so while the top 8 are qualified for season one they still need to compete for that sweet sweet moolah.
Looks like it to me. S4's hero pool is so large they seems to have difficulty pinning down what they want him to play.
This was very disappointing to me, C9 had at least three chances to secure their spot in the playoffs today and couldn't take advantage of any of them.
Kungarna just deserved it more, and they delivered. Now I guess I'm gonna have to jump on the IMT boat to satiate my thirst for soe 2-2-2 flag meta.
Oh and apparently, mykL bants > all.
I think it's possible that Janus might play but considering the 2-4 weeks of suggested bed rest after this type of operation, to prevent relapse, I'm not sure he will. Or at least I'm not sure if they want to take the risk. He probably wouldn't be in top shape.
Australia vs Taïwan preview!
And though I agree that this will most likely go to Flash Wolves, I don't want to count BLANK out just yet seeing how they surprised me by coming out in beast mode in the last series. I have hope, I believe.
Just, I'm back to furiously refreshing the web page. This is my life now.
This is going to give me a bloody heart attack.
Holy crap, C9 got the map win! WE GOT OURSELVES A TIEBREAKER BOYZ AND GIRLS!!!
C9 are going to need a solid ass hold if they want a chance to face Kung in the tier breaker. Not looking good right now.
Oh sorry, I meant tie the map count.
3-0 for RNG, if Kungarna can at least tie I think they have a chance of winning the tiebreaker if C9 can't get a map off RNG.
I didn't see it announced, but FaZe officially has the win being up 3-0. This match now means a hella lot to both FaZe and CLG, but CLG in in control of where they end up.
Not only that but we get to see that match!!!
2-1 Hammers..jeez man, I can't even see the matches and I'm sweating bullets.
Looks like the best C9 can hope for is a tie right now. The other match is at 1-1. I really wish they at least had vods for these even if they're not streamed.
With the FaZe win CLG's fate is in their own hands. Really glad we get to see a meaningful match on stream!
Yeah, best case scenario for C9 is to get a 4-0, probably not gonna happen, and take first outright.
In any case they need a win to just guarantee that their Contenders run isn't over.
I BELIEVE IN THE 2-2-2 FLAG META!!
Actually it turns out that 2nd spots in all 4 groups are coming down to the last games. Looks like the seeding has produced some pretty epic matches to qualify for playoffs.
Kungarna need the win to stay in the race for 2nd spot. If they do take the series only a win from C9 over RNG will keep them from qualifying.
Solid group overall, this might come down to the wire!
Yeah, I'm assuming that Kungarna gets a win against Hammers since the former has yet to outright lose a series but anything can happen.
In the end I'm pretty happy that qualifying is coming down to the last games for so many teams!
In my opinion NA has a larger pool of tier 2 teams so I feel like competition is tougher at that level. When I say tier two right now I mean any team not named EnvyUs of Rogue (yes I count them as NA because the teams consider themselves NA)
And that's one win down. Now they need to come up big against Renegades to stay in this. I BELIEVE.
Hoping for a better showing from FaZe this week. They have the talent to pull it off and Selfless hasn't been looking as strong this week so this is very doable for ma favourite high ping playing Genji.
I'm hoping that FaZe wins against Selfless since this match will actually mean something and we'll actually get to see it!
I'm really rooting for FNRGFE on this one. Would really like to see them get a chance at contenders seasons if they make it through and win one playoff series.
AFAIK there won't be. It's not being casted and none of the players a likely to stream it. Really rooting for C9 here since it's their last chance to take 2nd spot in the group.
IMT pretty much just playing to stay undefeated with only one tie. Pretty good results for a team fresh off a partial rebuild!
LG Evil playing for the bragging rights of being the only team to win all 6 of their matches.
Absolute must win for C9. They also need to beat RNG to have a chance at going though. They got their work cut out for them.
Correct, they need wins here and vs Hammers and have to hope that Kungarna loses vs RNG or Hammers as well.
And we'll never know what kind of epic matches they were having for both games to turn out as 2-2 draws.
