I placed at 49 and then duo queued with a friend almost exclusively. Now we're ranked 80.
Yes you can get out but it's about rolling the enemies instead of just "doing your part".
That might mean abusing the fact that nobody likes to play mercy. It rewards big wombo-combo instagib ults like pharah and zarya (genji possibly?). Most players are pretty bad at dealing with tracer/widow/genji if you're good at those classes.
