Just tested. I get a consistent 140+fps during team fights. I'll get a monitor and just limit to 120 + lightboost or something

Hm, I only have a 760 but was going to wait for for 1070 prices to fall before upgrading. Would getting a newer gfx card be more important? Not sure of my current fps, I haven't bothered to check yet.

Anyone have any recommendations on monitors? Is it worth getting a 144, or should a 120 be fine?

From what I understand from talking with some of my IRL friends, people are way more toxic at <50 than >60. Not to say that doesn't happen; I still see people calling early ggs (one out of like 10 games?), but in all my games only two people has ever disconnected intentionally.

You're rated at 45 which isn't honestly that bad, especially if this is your first fps. Keep on practicing and playing. If the fact that you can't get higher in rank really bothers you, just play quick play on characters you want to get good at. With season rank resets, you'll go higher if you belong at a higher rank.
