Rene
has announced that he will move to a coaching role on the team. His player slot will be filled by
Vestola
, according to Rene.
I've made the decision to step down from playing and become a coach. The only real reason is that I have no idea what my schedule will look like when I go to uni, and there's almost no chance we would be able to get a replacement as good as Vestola if I waited til next month --b
— Rene (@Reeeneow) September 18, 2020
Rene said on Twitter that the reason behind the decision was because he doesn’t know what his schedule for university will look like, and that there would be almost no chance to get a replacement “as good as Vestola” if he waited until next month.
He has been with Ex Oblivione since last year, and the team made their Contenders debut in Contenders 2020 Season 1: Europe with a third place finish in the playoffs. In Season 2, they finished fourth in the July tournament and second in the August tournament. He joins coach ALx on the coaching staff.
Vestola joins the team after he subbed in for Rene last month. He previously played for Young and Beautiful earlier this year, and was also a stand-in for them in the July tournament.
Ex Oblivione is set to compete the September tournament of Contenders Europe tomorrow, with their first match against Obey Alliance.
