You know how in portugal you have to buy site packages and services? Net neutrality (in the US) makes this Illegal. However, our cable companies are lobbying (AKA buying out our congressman and the Federal Communications Commision (who are supposed to regulate them)) to make them repeal net neutrality. The current head of the FCC is a former Verizon lobbyist. On December 7th, the FCC is planning a vote to Repeal Net Neutrality. As an EU citizen, you can’t really do much other than spread the word, unfortunately, as it’s not being covered on the news here because of said cable companies not wanting them to.
TL; DR: Fuck cable companies.
