The news comes right after the team finished its last match of Contenders Season 2's group stage, placing second in their group.

CIS Hope came together as a group of Russian-speaking Overwatch players from the Commonwealth of Independent States. The team qualified for Contenders Season 1 Europe through Open Division and finished in the top four of its first Contenders season, ending with a semifinal defeat at LAN.

While Winstrike Team announced they had signed CIS Hope, sharyk clarified the team hadn't yet signed a contract with the organization. They are currently in the final stages of getting a contract signed.
