The last roster to qualify for Contenders Australia, Moonlight, was picked up by Surge eSports Club earlier this week. Originally failing to qualify for the major tournament, Moonlight found a place in Contenders following the disbandment of Open Division runner-ups Skyrlla.

Surge kept things close against NoC Predators in their first Contenders match, evidence that they have the chops to remain competitive against the weaker teams in the tournament. Their participation in Contenders is evidence of the inclusive nature of Blizzard's "Path to Pro system, which has provided lower-tier teams with the opportunity to improve through regular tournament play.
The ex-Moonlight players will compete under the Surge name for the first time on the 18th of March against JAM Gaming.
