The Shanghai Dragons announced the addition of Wang "RUI" Xingrui to their coaching staff the day before their first Overwatch League match. RUI was formerly the Head Coach of Miraculous Youngster, considered to be the best Chinese team for much of 2017 until their disbandment in December last year.
#OWL2018 Exciting news! Coach "RUI" officially joined Shanghai Dragons! RUI has led his former team won a lot of champions in China. He also was honored as "The Best Coach" in OW annual gala. ShanghaiDragons can't wait for more surprise with RUI's wisdom! 🔥🐲 pic.twitter.com/xnP6WHPckG

RUI helped to develop a winning culture on MY that led to the team claiming first place in the Premier Series Summer and the Premier Series Grand Finals, alongside strong performances in the OGN Seoul Super Cup and the APAC Premier. News of his addition to the Dragons broke at a similar time to revelations that MY had rejected their invite to play in the first season of Contenders 2018 China, thus finalizing their withdrawal from the competitive scene.
The Dragons extensive coaching and managerial staff have their work cut out for them, as the team is considered by many to be the worst in the League following less than stellar performances in the preseason and their first official match. RUI's addition to the franchise has added to rumors that the organisation is planning to pick up former MY players during the transfer window that opens on the 11th of February.
