From the article, it says he loses pay bonus. He still gets paid, just not the bonus.

Only if he logs into the other players account. I'm pretty sure the PCs aren't account locked, that wouldn't make much sense.

I'm going to assume that's because his contract says something about ensuring the behavior of the team. And as stated, he doesn't lose his pay, just his bonus.
