TaKeTV hosted the Contenders 2019 Atlantic Showdown, as well as both TaKeOver tournaments. They are the sponsors of Angry Titans and Olympians, both of who will start the Contenders season competing in Contenders Trials.
TaKeTV is based in Germany but will be responsible for the broadcasts of both Contenders Europe and Contenders North America. They will broadcast select Contenders matches on Tuesdays as well as every semifinals and finals match on Thursdays and Fridays.
Six casters will commentate matches played in the two regions. There is a mix of old and new faces. The caster pairs are:
- Evie "HamTornado" Feng + Thomas "Tridd" Underwood
- Jennifer "LemonKiwi" Pichette + Harry "LEGDAY" Pollitt
- Victoria "VikkiKitty" Perez + Christian "Heurix" Thomasser
Five of the casters have commentated Contenders matches before for various regions around the world. The one commentator new to Overwatch Contenders is VikkiKitty. The only Overwatch tournament she has commentated is the Overwatch Heroes Rumble 2017. She has experience commentating other esports such as Super Smash Bros.
Brackets for the first Trials and Contenders tournaments of the season are available on the Contenders news post.
Contenders 2020 Season 1 begins Tuesday, March 10 at 1 p.m. PT, 4 p.m. ET and 9 p.m. CET. All matches will be broadcast on the Contenders YouTube channel.
