Eternal Academy's disband comes shortly after the roster finished fourth in Contenders Trials Europe with a 2-3 record. The finish was short of a promotion to Contenders.

The team ended up in Trials after a seventh place finish in Contenders Europe 2019 Season 1. They were short of a playoff berth by a few maps.

After falling into Trials, Eternal Academy tried to right the ship by adding Hqrdest and Ex0rath to the roster. Both players were previously members of Samsung Morning Stars, who purged much of their roster following the end of the Contenders season.

Their fall into Open came despite Eternal Academy forming as only the second academy team in Europe. They finished below two unsponsored rosters in the Contenders standings and three unsponsored rosters in the Trials standings.

Shortly before the team announced their disband, head coach CWoosH left Eternal Academy. He said he would explain his reasons for leaving in the coming days.

Eternal Academy have an automatic invitation to the first season of Contenders 2020 should they choose to sit out the next Contenders season.
