they also put in skill lines/hero customization. People have complained for ages that overwatch is trying to please too many audiences at once and doing nothing well. trying to fit campaign and hero mode into the main game while balancing for each would be a step in the wrong direction.

a fuck ton of money. Maybe they are planning on downgrading their team, but they will be getting a lot of money in return. And anyway, they only placed 7th-8th with 2 of the best players in the league and no stage final appearance, it sorta makes sense to sell for a ton of money while gesture and profits stocks are still very high if they are not getting the success they seek with those players. (That is just my guess at what spitfire was thinking. But rest assured, they made bank)

I'm super hyped for the contenders gauntlet. After being really excited for OWL grand finals for 2 weeks between it and the semis it was kinda a let down with how one sided it was- still a great event, just not super thrilling- and now I've basically been blue-balled for some quality high stakes competitive Overwatch.

But do you know what else I know? It is very possible for them to schedule it so that everyone in the world has it on a weekend. Every single person. Just make it one day earlier (Saturday local time), they don't even need to change the time, and that will let it be on the weekend for everyone. I don't care if it's at 3AM, but if it's on during work there is nothing I can do, and that is avoidable.

ikr! I know and fully accept that the time will not be great or even good for everyone but they could have at least made it on the weekend. I dont care what time it is, i will be awake for it, but 8AM on a monday there is nothing I can do. It's an absolute disgrace if you ask me, because they could have just had it at the exact same time one day earlier (6pm saturday in Philadelphia) and it would have been watchable for every time zone in the world.

the have consistently been one of the most dominant team for 2 seasons, I feel like they deserve a title. Every time they lose (which isn't common) they get trash talked so much, it seems like people are starting to take their prowess for granted. Sure they don't have a stage title this season, or a golden stage, but two season in a row they conceded only 6 regular season losses, yet people still don't respect them? They have a not superb stage 4 and people suddenly forget this is the same team that has recorded less losses in the history of the OWL as Florida map wins in season 2 (I made that stat up, but it sounds somewhat believable).

looks great for fans of overwatch, but for fans of teams, this seems kinda bad. For example, Atlanta Reigns first game is in week 4. If you are a fan of the reign that would be really annoying (all teams have gaps like this at various points in the season). And then they will play multiple games in one week. So a four week gap and then one week you gotta set aside 3+ hours of your weekend to watch it.

boston management is determined to destroy the team in any way possible. they have traded or sold or dropped most of their most promising members from season one such as striker, gamsu, note, crusty, mistakes so they are probably preparing to sell aimgod too. look at their history and all the amazing people that have been part of the org and its no longer surprising that they actually won a stage title last season. then look at all the roster and staff changes they have made and its still not surprising that they are power ranked number 20
