(ignore this comment just checking something concerning bug)
today it might go to 45k but for final it should be over 50k
im still sad there wont be final between eu and na winner like in overwatch open
and just a little bit of shameless self advertising story of misfits: https://www.over.gg/5987/misfits-unfulfilled-expectations#1 and there a little bit more about overwatch open
and also we can see which players show up at lan
be carefull poi, saying that some popular player is overrated is gona get you downvoted
you seriously think its because of buyout fee?
they just droped 20 milion on spot in a game that might not have any future buyout fee is not a problem its just the fact that for some reason they think na players will bring more viewers even in they will be shit
na so na
no kappa
i went full eu for both ;)
will be interesting to see how it looks
investors? yes
viewers and players? no
just look at cs go, pretty much every top team is from na or cis organization but are full eu rosters
this
also there is this super bias towards na, (3 spots only outside us) and blizzard seems to think na is some esports center and that so many people in usa care about it
but the truth is there are much more viewers and better players in both eu and asia
sad considering he was called "the best western dps" by many people
every team he was on was one of the best in the world
he certainly was a part of it but i dont think he formed it
https://www.over.gg/2485/envyus-vs-faze-mlg-vegas-invitational-mlg-vegas-playoffs-final
;) but im actually faze fan and this should be easy game for them
quality thread is quality
why do i bother writting one and a half a page when i can post 2 words?
next one i might do seul lh but not sure when
this could have been overwatch open :/ and final would most likely be the same envy vs misfits
also thanks to RedBlue who helped me on discord when i was lazy and didnt want to look for some info myself
this is 2nd thing/article/history i wrote first was about EnVyUs here
as before im terrible at writing so go easy on me
For the second team i chose the best european line up - Misfits. Unlike EnVyUs’s their story has as many victories as unfulfilled expectations and disappointing results and it all started on June 23rd when organisation from united kingdom picked up team Graviton Surge.
European roster consisted of two swedes, Zebbosai and Nevix, two frenchmen, Soon and Kryw german Skipjack and danish Zaprey. While their early results were not impressive towards the end of their adventure under grawiton surge name they managed to win 2 tournaments and 3 qualifiers in a row making them one of the best european lineups at the time.
After joining Misfits they continued good performance throughout july and august winning 5 tournaments and 3 qualifiers. September of 2016 brought changes to the roster as well as their biggest victory ever.
Overwatch Open which took place from 25th to 30th of september was the biggest tournament to date had the best teams from europe and north america and grand final between best from these two regions. Winner of this tournament was going to be the best western team, and to surprise of many it turned out by non other then Misfits.
Their way to the title was not easy as shortly before tournament begun they lost 2 of their players. Support zupray who retired has been replaced by Hidan on trial and ryb as a stand in took the place of tank player skipjack who due to mother's illness decided to focus on family for the time being. Lineup for overwatch open now consisted of 3 frenchmen Hidan, Soon and Kryw and 3 swedes Zabbosai, ryb and Nevix.
They finished the group stage in 2nd place after losing to rogue which roster consisted of 2 swedes in TviQ and Reinforce and 4 frenchmen in winz, aKm, uNKOE and KnOxXx and were placed against NiP with a finnish roster of fragi, zupphew, hymzi, zappis, mafu and kyynel in semifinals. They won 3:1 and proceeded to final in which they had revenge on rogue winning european bracket after nail biting 3:2 finish. In the grand final they were awaited by at the time best team in the world in EnVyUs with a roster of Taimou, Talespin, cocco, INTERNETHULK, chipshajen and HarryHook. Misfits shook the overwatch scene by winning 3:1 against boys in blue.
Still with ryb on the roster they went on to win Underdogs Season 1 and after Skipjack returned and replacing Kryw with COOLER DreamHack Winter 2016.
On December 5th a three way trade happened between Misfits, Rogue and Luminosity. SoOn, Skipjack and Hidan were replaced by Manneten, Zave, TviQ and Reinforce forming an all swedish lineup. While these changes were supposed to create french and swedish super teams only rogue fulfilled expectations.
2017 was a year of disappointment for Misfits. They dropped from APEX season 2 during group stage after winning only one match. After 4th place finish in Overwatch PIT Championship Zave stepped down and was replaced by Mineral.
In June they finished last in Overwatch TaKeOver 2 lan. They saw a light on the end of the tunnel on june 10th as they finished 2nd in Contenders season 0 qualifier but were quickly run over by train from which this light came as they finished 7th-8th in the playoffs.
But not all went bad for Misfits in 2017 as on July 12th it was announced they had purchased the Miami-Orlando spot in the Overwatch League. But to be competitive in Blizzard’s flagship esports venture they needed changes.
On august 13th Reinforce went inactive and Nevix left for Cloud9 eu on august 15th Zuppehw from team gigganti joined ending fully swedish roster, day later he was joined by CWoosH and Logix. As important as roster changes were role changes, TviQ moved to dps from flex and was joined in this role by logix leaving flex to Manneten and newly added CWoosH as main tank. At the same time Mineral became coach.
New roster consisted of Zabbosai, Manneten, TviQ, Zuppehw, CWoosH and Logix and had its debut in contenders season 1. After months of mediocre results expectation were low but the changes paid off as they won every single game barely losing any maps and finishing on top of european bracket.
With the Misfits looking stronger than ever they are clear favorites to win contenders season 1 and if they are be able to keep this form they might take a trophy in Overwatch League season 1.
https://www.over.gg/5522/london-owl-spot-name#31

internet already comes uo with memes: https://twitter.com/n_K0e/status/915967534695944192
i should probably also post source
all the information comes from my memory and liquipedia (i love this site, and the fact that there is a roster for every tournament)
at least they stay consistant to team colours as envyus are called boys in blue
also just as i wrote it https://www.over.gg/5964/maybe-something-interesting-about-envyus this surfaces
i dont really know what to think about this name, logo and colours look cool nut "fuel"? rally? ill at least need to get used to it
I've started collecting info about misfits so they'll be next but when i finish writing no one knows :/

There will be a lot of terrible witting ahead, proceed with caution
With the list of teams for the inaugural season of overwatch league finalized i’ll look at history of different spot owners and rosters. I decided to start with envyus as it's probably the best established both rosters and organizations in overwatch and because starting roster for Austin-Dallas spot will most likely be the same as the current roster.
EnVyUs as organization entered overwatch already during closed beta by picking up Team Hubris on February 2nd 2016. Team consisted of coolmatt69, Talespin, Ras, Minstrel, Stoop and Esper.
Team Hubris was a top north american team with 6 straight tournament victories. After joining boys in blue they kept their good performance by winning weekly tournament organized by gosugamers on 21st of february placing 3rd-4th early next month and after switching esper for buds and role shuffle between players taking the trophy of gosugamers tournament once again in their last tournament under EnVyUs on 20th of march. April 17th team disbanded as players moved on in search of other organizations.
We did not have to wait long for EnVyUs to come back to overwatch as on 23rd of april envyus signed IDDQD (team not the player) and brought back Talespin. This time roster was nearly fully european and consisted of Taimou, chipshajen, TviQ who left in place of Talespin, cocco, HarryHook and INTERNETHULK. From here on EnVyUs became the most dominant rosters we have seen in overwatch taking nearly every title in 2016 and many high placings in 2017 all this with only two roster changes.
IDDQD prior to joining north american organization was one of the best european teams winning 16 tournaments out of 18 they took part in, and placing 2nd and 4th int the 2 tournaments they haven't won.
The first 2 tournaments under north american organisation were overkill and Alienware Monthly Melee for the month of may in which they placed 3rd and 2nd respectively. June brought them their first win in weekly king of the watch tournament after which they haven't slowed down for the rest of 2016 winning 15 more tournaments and 4 qualifiers. Few of the most notable tournaments they won were:
Operation breakout which started on june 11th and ended june 26th, During this tournament envyus haven't dropped single map winning in final against Cloud9 with roster consisiting of KyKy, Grego, surefour, Adam, reaver and deBett. Other notable teams in tournament were Rogue with 4 french players in winz, aKm, uNKOE and KnOxXx supplemented by swedish due in Reinforce and TviQ and sole spaniard ToxikeN. Luminosity with all american lineup consisting of Seagull, Gods, milo, Pookz, Esper and enigma. And REUNITED with best european talent in uNFixed, Winghaven, 2Easy, Morte, Kruis and Vallutaja
OG invitational on 25th and 26th of june this time defeating Luminosity in final and again not dropping a single map. Rosters were same as during operation break out as they were at the same time.
Overwatch APEX Season 1 During which they were actually far from favorites as they lost during group stage to best korean team in Lunatic-Hai with roster of Ryujehong, Leetaejun, Tobi, Dean, Miro and EscA. And with the Rogue looking stronger than ever after ToxikeN left Their match against boys in blue was supposed to end rule of european mix but unexpected changes to D.VA left meta in chaos and EnVyUs which just picked probably best D.VA player at the time in Mickie came back stronger than ever and took the first APEX season 1 with convincing victory over Afreeca Freecs Blue in final.
MLG vegas 2016 during which they totally decimated north american teams losing only 1 map and winning final against revamped FaZe roster now with only 3 americans in Rawkus, FCTFCTN and zombs and 3 european stars in ShaDowBurn, TwoEasy and Forsak3n 4:0
Only 2 teams able to take titles from boys in blue in 2016 were Rogue and Misfits winning 2016 ESL Overwatch Atlantic Showdown - Gamescom and Overwatch Open respectively.
During all this time only change to the roster was signing of Mickie on December 18th after Talespin left on November 16th which paid off in dividends during APEX.
2017 was far less successful for them as well as much less busy as they took part in only 3 tournaments and are now playing in contenders season 1. Their results are far weaker as they placed 5th-8th, 2nd and 4th nonetheless they still are one of the best teams in the world and their lack of results can be attributed to a long time spent in korea during seasons 2 and 3 of apex. With the dominant performance during online stage of Contenders Boys in blue might soon take their first trophy in 2017.
This year only change to the roster was pick up of korean star dps player EFFECT after INTERNUTHULK left and signing of north american dps player and one of the most popular streamers Seagull which was announced shortly after Blizzard confirmed that EnVyUs bought Austin-Dallas spot in Overwatch League
EnVyUs has one of the best overwatch rosters and with the boys in blue on the rise once again north american organization has one of the best possible lineups and they are likely to go deep in the upcoming season 1 of Overwatch League.
thats a lot of quick plays ;)
but i dont play comp either :P (except for placement)
also it became kinda boring after few of this shatters bringe more variety
but overrall i liked it
interesting considering they said no more roster changes bt probably blizzard also wants to use his popularity
i dont have favourits at all but
i enjoyed apex season 1 games (akm mccree) and its final was also good
apex season 3 final was good
also i dont remamber what game it was but the complete stomp by envyus on dorade when they just spawn camped other team was fun :P
maybe also apec 2016 where rogue won with lh? (i think it was callec apec :/) edit: it was apac ;) so close
overral i would look into 2016 games coz whatever people keep tellung blizzards action really where not good for competitive scene in 2017 (i actually did a little bit of reaserch on subject and number of tournaments in 2016 compared to 2017 is really overwhelming)
ill post links in a little bit
here stomp on dorado (also listen to the begging, rogue and envyus best western and overrall one of the best overwatch teams since ever) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YuEjXpN7BE0 specialy watch defence by envy (oh and also people talking about "selfless defence about agressive defence and this happened nearly year earlier)
here old rogue, akm mccree and rogue going for apex season 1 victory sadly later dva changes hit and coz of this they lose to envyus https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R4LyZGWrxGk
apac final https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4HjN3hlA15A (part one of 3)
apex season 4 final https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bxWX4z0XEek (dont be afraid of length there are very long breaks and some special events during them)
blue: oh yea that was good and reminded me of another legendary match by taimou: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KFnWGkN3gc8
rumours confirmed, dont even need to update list of teams
@admirable i wasnt wrong about iddqd beeing n the roster
ill be honest, i dont think this roster stands any chance against likes of envy kdp and lh
they might have some amazing synergy but ill belive when i see
(i dont have "favourites" in anything so ill give few answers to everything)
team - envy/rogue/go/rip movistars
player - akm/chips/timo
match - no favourite
mains - i dont play comp for like 4 seasons (except placemant for sprays) so no mains, i used to main dva though
movie - no favourit
food - no favourit, depends
member - no favourite, you all suck
edit: ill add favourite flag: evila japan aka Bangladesh (that why its my flag)
actually what he says feels like its true
"i havent SIGNED anything" not that he is not going to optic but that he hasnt signed
"im at late stage"
i trust wolf so i updated my list of rosters: https://www.over.gg/5409/overwatch-league-teams
interesting picks considering that while fnrgfe is a good team they are not in my opinion amongst best in the world
another one bites the dust!
another one.....
but it isnt and cs go and league have FAR smaller prize pools
i would say akm is better at tracking (soldier) while timo is better at flicks (mccree, widow)
timo finlands gift to esport most earnings
feels good man
i dont think prize pools are good way of measuring, well anything, dota has just stupidly high prize pools while not beeing most popular esport
