competitive pugs on gold/plat level....
lets be real
just stop
its not "your" roster
we dont pick roster coz its not about it, we just want to play together
main tank needs to be rein winston imo
so for everyone interested go to discord
i play support (most of them), dva (maybe coz havent played her in a while) hog, zarya, mccree soldier (widow maybe when i hit shots but id probably not wont to play her on comp) tracer, repear and torb on some maps
i cant play at all rein genji orisa winston
i dont think you can, there were times i got over 10 comments in few threads on -10 and i still got to 2 stars
again dont plan roles
you will most likely need to adapt to what players will show up and play on different classes
thats a secret, eu
edit: miss read i thought you said intel hd 520 notnvidia 520 ;)
you dont need to build a pc even integrated laptop graphics can be enaugh
and you should stop trying to be funny
other thibg is, dont pick players, use this thred as more of announcement and for getting feedback dont expect even half of people you "chose" to show up because you will not find time that fits everyone
feedback is mostly positive so just chose a time and day (announce in new thread maybe) and see who shows up
i think dark already thought about somethig like this on discord so talk to him (on discord best) and again just pick some day and hour and see who shows up
btw our discord should work great for communication and would be a lot better than in game
it can run on some integrated laptop graphics even so you really dont need much
toxic
dva is fun and i actually dont know why i started maining her because i did it when she had old matrix which was total crap
actually in game im never toxic i rarely talk if i dont need to
this is forum, its point is discussing (aka fighting) but in game there is no point in this thats also why i play every class, to fill role that team lacks
(and right now i have broken headset so i cant talk at all)
im eu (but probably can play reasonable well on east coast) and can play only when im back home so once every few weeks on weekend
when i last time played comp semi serious i was higher plat (havent played comp for 2 seasons at all)
support, dva (in early days was dva main havent played much of her lately though), hog, zarya, soldier, mccree, tracer
edit: that was not supposed to be reply :/
actually with this^
can you play in na open division when youre from eu?
provide a path for players of all skill levels to grow as competitors and as teammates. We saw this idea in action over the past year, with Overwatch Contenders, the Open Division, and other regional leagues across the globe
well this is bullshit, open and contenders were completely disconnected so there was no "path"
Overwatch APEX, Overwatch Premier Series, and the Overwatch Pacific Championship will become Contenders Korea, Contenders China, and Contenders Pacific, respectively. Additionally, we will establish Contenders in two brand-new regions, Australia and South America. With the existing regions of North America and Europe
this might be nice but still for competition there need to be 3rd party tournaments
but at least no more contenders news soon tm
i just noticed
Beginning in March
are you fucking kidding? we will hava owl until march? there will be no apex, maybe premier and pacific but with same plan for them as for apex i dont think so
so owl only tournament untli march, thats a joke
1st no, killing a year of competition is never a good thing
2nd in 10 years i really dont think we'll have same games on top of esport or at least not in this form (cs go is probably only example of esport game being on top for so long and it switched from 1.6 to go)
3rd last year owwc had similar number of viewers (except that this year we had national streams which added a lot of viewers) and it didnt require killing tournaments and still the number of viewers during owwc (which i dont think 1st season of owl will reach) when compared to dota 2 lol or cs go is pretty small
4th why do you call killing tournaments and not having anything in their place "large move"? its not big or important for building owl in any way, its just antycompetitive
and ill just add that, yes blizzard are greedy bastards when they want 20 million for spot in a game that is tier 2 esport when riot asks half of this for spot in the biggest esport game
il add my 2 cents again ;)
many of these tournaments not even died but were straight up killed by blizzard (amm most notably) with nothing from blizzard to replace it
blizzard has been killing tournaments and we got nothing in their place which resulted in 2nd half of 2017 being pretty much dead with only contenders (and owwc but thats kinda outside)
to add to robokuns comment, out of the biggest esports cs go is the most connected across regions and is the one not run by one organisation like lol or now overwatch
there already is separate ranking for owl teams
someone with no knowledge of overwatch history?
rogue with core of unkoe winz and akm were top team since the beginning of overwatch esport and won most of tournaments they entered most notably esl atlantic showdown in which they stopped the winning streak of envyus and apac 2016 in which they defeated the best western chinese and korean teams defeating lh in final
after going full french they won 7 out of 10 tournaments they played in
http://wiki.teamliquid.net/overwatch/Rogue/Results
saying that they had one "compressed" run is just wrong on so many levels
oh and fact that players probably spend most of time trialing for different owl teams before owwc, and getting frustrated they didnt get into (akm mainly) and being let go from rogue had nothing to do with it?
seriously taking other teams seriously or not had nothing to do with their performance during owwc at that point they were on different teams (or without a team)
probably most unfairly treated players when it came to owl
cant wait
gonna be interesting
you should watch apex s1 (shows greatly how change to character completely shifts meta and which teams are best, from rogue to envy)
for more fun games maybe see some of taimou widowmaker in envyus vs bk stars during apex s2
look into this thread for favourite matches of people https://www.over.gg/5944/favorite-overwatch-match-ever#21
if youre really interested yo might read these (yes by me and not great but will do) and maybe watch some of the biggest tournaments mentioned there
https://www.over.gg/5964/maybe-something-interesting-about-envyus
https://www.over.gg/6173/kings-of-korean-overwatch-lunatic-hai
https://www.over.gg/5987/misfits-unfulfilled-expectations
Atlantic Showdown, Overwatch Open, APAC, and DreamHack Winter for few older than apex s1 and great tournaments maybe apex s2 and s3 finals
its getting kinda old but you do realise that out of 4 real premier tournaments in which best korean and western teams met its 2:2 between eu and korea?
i really cant tell if you have problems with understanding what you read or what
-having 150k contract is not a decoration so this whole sentence is stupid
even if a team is the best in the world and won in the most competitive tournament in the world but has won only this one it does not have many "decorations"
my pick is a team that won the most and biggest tournaments
and you still seem to not understand what "most decorated" means
yes a team with more wins in major tournaments is more decorated (not better) it doesnt matter if scene was more competitive
also after calling someone out on typo you really should check carefully your spelling
but at the start of apex season 2 they weere still a team without any tittles only after apex s2 they actually won something so you cant start there
i placed pretty high in few tournaments in different game and dont have stream pls add me
only this year and not really
and if you want to talk about rogue you need to remember circumstances: rogue not getting spot in owl, players trialing for different owl teams (no practice) players getting into different teams some players not getting into it thus frustration and in general far from top form
people throw things like "era" "dynasty" and simillar all the time but what does it mean? in my opinion you can tell that some team had an "era" (im from cs go and there are eras of different teams) only from a long time perspective
so far i dont think there was any team in overwatch that had an era coz there was no team winning all the big tournaments for lets say half a year and 2 tournaments won in a row are not enough for me
im mentioning owwc coz it is pretty big tournament regardless of its fairness
looking h2h and counting oww cups as major(both although last years can hardly be called so due to voting)
ryujehong 2 premier wins 3 major (although i kinda disagree seoul cup should be counted as major)
taimou cocco harryhook chipshajen 1 premier 5 major and 2nd place in one more premier plus numerous smaller tournaments
akm winz unkoe 2 premier 3 major plus numerous smaller tournaments
soon 1 premier 4 major numerous smaller tournaments
h2h biggest tournaments are mostly equal but envy and rogue cores have many more smaller victories and are at the top for over a year longer
i would put owwc as major
edit: becuase its the most popular tournament viewers vise and i dont feel it should be minor tournament
well it looks like you also dont understand "most decorated"
I'm not sure I fully understand what you mean but you're literally saying that LH didn't win enough tournaments compared to Rogue and Envy so I'm a bit confused.
yes wnning more (major) tournaments means teams/players are more decorated, that simple
ok great lets stick to liquipedia major premier
lh 2 premier 1 major and thats all they won
rogue core (so akm win unkoe)
2 premier 3 major plus numerous more tournaments won
envy core (cocco taimou chips harryhook)
1 premier 5 major plus 2nd place in another premier tournament and many more victories
we did not have these tournaments coz blizzard havent allowed (to make space for contenders)
koreans won apex s2
apex s3
europe apac 2016
apex s1
calling lh winning 2 apexs dynasty is just wrong they were 3 months apart
counting only tournaments with western and koresn tier 1 teams
apac 2016 rogue
apex s1 envy
apex s2 lh
apex s3 lh
but the thing is west just had tournaments year before korea plus contenders im not choosing team that won most tournaments just biggest
lh
apex s2
apex s3
envy
apex s1
mlg vegas
contenders s1 and more
rogue
apac 2016
gamescom showmatch
takover s1
takeover s2
and more
very convenient "since apex s1"
ogn seoul cup - these were showmstches between 2 korean teams and 2 chinese teams
wht about apac 2016?
apex s1?
and your lack of knowledge (or research) just made me laugh "except for the Nexus Cup 2017, an online event LH didn't even play in" its not that they didnt play they just failed to qualify for it http://wiki.teamliquid.net/overwatch/Nexus_Cup/2017/Spring/Korean_Qualifier
tournaments with top western and korean teams were
apac 2016
apex s1
apex s2
apex s3
and in these tournaments its 2 eu wins 2 korea wins
and if you count apac 2017 and super cup with only top korean and chinese teams then count also contenders, overwatch open and esl atlantic showdown
no, in 6 months there were 3 apexs it was more like 3-4 months and compare it to envy which was winning tournaments since February 2016
people cant understand basic english and meaning of most decorated
i agree they had an era, for 2 apex seasons which when you look at it is not that long
oh and how does players get decorated? not by winning tournaments? and if by winning tournaments than arent players from best teams most decorated?
edit: so here a question to people who downvote, if most decorated players arent the ones that won most and biggest tournaments than maybe i dont know what it means so pls enlighten me
so tell me in what way ryujehong "redefined what a support player could do"?
he is flashy and a great player true but at the same time he is overhyped, at the owwc we could see a lot of problems with his playstyle when ana was out of meta, you should watch first games against usa when he was stuck on ana and refused to swap and they were losing, when he finally switched to zen korea started winning
and seriosuly you just called lunatic hai "most dominant team overwatch has ever seen"?
reading this thread made me wonder if people realise how little korean teams actually won and that having the best team currently doesnt say anything about whole history
outside of apex and 2 owwcs pretty much nothing and looking at prize money wont tell you anything (plus this year was really bad for overwatch esport with lack of tournaments)
for the most decorated teams/players it would be between rogue core (akm winz unkoe) and envyus core (chips cocco taimou harryhook)
personally i would say rogue had higher peaks but envy was more consistant through out all metas and with less roster changes so i would give it to envyus (although in my heart rogue will always be best) so taimou cocco chips and harryhook
here results for:
envyus http://wiki.teamliquid.net/overwatch/Team_EnVyUs/Results
rogue http://wiki.teamliquid.net/overwatch/Rogue/Results
lunatic hai http://wiki.teamliquid.net/overwatch/Lunatic-Hai/Results
edit: so lets get this out of the way, question is about MOST DECORATED player not BEST player so its not that hard, just go look at teams that achieved most
ryujehong won 5 tournaments (one of which can be hardly called tournament as it were show matches mostly http://wiki.teamliquid.net/overwatch/Seoul_Cup/OGN_Super_Match/2017) come on
why is everyone answering with best players in their opinion when question is clearly about most decorated player?
