They're not anomalies if few women play OW in the first place.

I think his argument with women not being able to make it pro is that he ignores the fact that they have made it pro.

Honestly, for Runner to try and keep the name Runaway is quite selfish. Player on his team are going through hard times economically, yet he still refuses sponsors.

iuKeEe is definitely not joking about them not having a trouble about their team; even though they have no org right now, once they get their sixth player (or even before), they've done so well that I think they can get picked up in the next month.

Finally some proper father-son bonding time.
I'm gonna watch every single second they cast together.

Very demoralizing, it's no wonder he quit.

I'm gonna be sad if Qualifier LB Winner gets dropped, their org is so good.

So THAT would explain all the dropped teams.

Are they actually in a house, because if they weren't that'd be really ironic.

I agree with what you said on pre-OWL events, Blizzard thought too much of messing it up, and like NRG, took too long and still messed it up.
My point, though, was that returns were way negative. According to Liquipedia, after 10 months of competing and roster changes, they still made less than 10k. If they were paying the players like they should, Splyce would've lost too much money to wait for OWL.

posted about 7 years ago

I feel like these disbanded teams weren't making much money out of their teams and only entered the scene in hope of OWL's success. This probably applies to most teams except for those in, perhaps, APEX right now. I could see how a team would be dropped if they couldn't do well enough in OWL, but I'm really sad that Splyce didn't think their team would be a good enough investment.

Also: I just watched the video after writing, so yeah, a lot of what I just said.

LGE's been recovering lately and doing well and CLG has been improving like crazy recently. I still have my bets as a LGE fanboy though.

2 tracer 2 winston 2 lucio comps.

no hero limits ULTRALUL

Also, I'm really hoping that this is cancelled because OWL is coming soon. That's the most plausible reason. Monthly Melees were the fuckin best.

I know this might change up the rankings a bit and take more time, but since there's so many regions that can't be well connected, should we try for individual region leaderboards too? To say only LH and Rogue can beat nV and many other examples don't exactly line up. My idea would be to give teams different ratings in all the places they compete. For example, Rogue would be 1st in NA but low in the ladder for KR since they haven't been there since s1 of APEX. Meanwhile, nV would be around 2nd in the US but still higher than Rogue in KR (which could make sense as APEX is a LAN event).

kinda tl;dr: individual regional leaderboard rankings.

tfw we had one but they barely practiced together before going to MLG (NRG)

posted about 7 years ago

im sure they made their team comp like so knowing that they'd be good enough to go to KR

Unlike Valve who says "Eh...I mean we got anti cheat so thats fine...and we banned some match fixers once, so it isn't happening anymore, right?"

VAC has nothing to do with match fixing

Props to Snivy for such an amazing write up on this situation.
It seems that since MLG, LANs have been slowing down in Overwatch to the point where we're just left with the Monthly (insert online tourney here) to watch every once in a while. All we discuss now is "Hey, this team's putting out some heat recently" to "Team X lost to Team Y in last month's Melee, but now Team Y is tilting." Online matches just appear to be a bunch of numbers that change from time to time that we use to conclude one team is better. With every week that passes, the scene floats even further into the "limbo" and further away from the hype that offline tournaments put out.
Blizzard needs to pour some water right down our throats because we haven't had any big LANs to quench our drought in some time.

I actualy think whole overwatch league is dead end, blizzard should let scene grow on its own and have its "majors" like steam this way they can help scene grow while not blocking it

I really want to believe Blizzard is making OWL to surpass the bunch of majors that CS: GO and other like games have. They're going for a revolutionary approach to where instead of having the work be done by people who host majors like MLG or ESL, they put it into their own hands.
