I kind of get what you're saying. They just felt slightly off, like they weren't all 100% synced up with xQc yet. I don't think it was bad, by any means, but because they were playing Seoul, that slight off-sync showed up.
I think they left him in just because he is so aggressive, which is a better match-up vs Seoul than Cocco's play style. They wanted to dive/counter-dive rather than just get dove on with no counter.

These teams have already played, and it was 3-1 in favor of the Excelsior. I don't see any reason to think it will be any different this time around, especially with JJoNak able to play this time. Boston might not be as meme worthy as they (probably) are, but they certainly aren't an equal to this NY squad. NYXL 3-1 BOS

The Houston Outlaws took both the Fuel and the Dynasty right down to the wire, and those two teams are supposed to be among the best. Philly didn't even play, so besides looking at the individual people, there's no way to know how good they might be. They have a good DPS pair (although secretly I never really liked SDB that much), but I feel like LiNKzer and Jake match up easily. Plus Coolmatt is a cool guy! HOU 3-1 PHL.

This is probably going to be a massacre. The Mayhem were very disappointing in the pre-season, and with only the six players they don't really have any flexibility. You're going to see the same thing every week, and I just don't think they have the individual strength to overcome that. They should be easy to plan against. And then the Spitfire are just packed with great players that easily match or exceed their counterparts on the Mayhem. They had a little bit of growing pains, but they should have ironed that out by now. LDN 4-0 FLA.

I'm going to go with my hopes and dreams here. The Fuel seemed to be experimenting in the pre-season, so I'm hoping that when they come out for the reals they'll catch the Dynasty a little off-guard and win the first game. If, however, they take a game to "wake up", which has been their problem in the past, it will easily swing the other way. Hopes and Dreams, though! DAL 3-2 SEO.

I don't know much about the Chinese scene, but the Dragons didn't look that great in the pre-season, and the Gladiators (I think it should be GLAD) did better than I expected. I hear Surefour is Canadian. GLAD 3-1 SHD.

I was going to give the Shock the benefit of the doubt, and say 3-2 with the Valiant taking it, but with IDDQD being out this week I'm going to change to VAL 3-1 Shock. I'm not sure what role idd would have had, but he was on fire in the pre-season. It's hard to see them matching the level of the Valiant now.

Yeah, they looked and performed much better during the short time of the pre-season he was in. When he came back out they just didn't do as good.

If it was like the pre-season pick'em, right up until the game started.

I don't know why everyone is so down on the Shock, though. They aren't the best, but I think they'll do pretty good this season.

I can't always be consistently on, but consider this my interest in doing what I can.
DrElementary#1979, and I just made it into gold, this season, 2023.
Feel like I'm best at Zen, Zarya, Soldier, D.Va. Can at least do Lucio, Pharah, Junkrat, Roadhog, Reaper. Like to pretend I can play McCree, Tracer, Ana, Mercy, and Orisa, but I haven't actually done them in comp yet. I secretly like Symmetra and Torb. Am dreadful at Winston and Rein.

I use the Reddragon Perdition, but then I used to play MMOs, so twelve programmable thumb buttons might be overkill. Makes emoting easy, though.
Had it for three years and no problems yet. Five DPI profiles. It even has adjustable weights.

Such a boring name. They might as well call themselves the "LA eSports Team", or maybe "LA Generic Name", or perhaps just "Kroenke's LA Thing".
Also, Kroenke sucks.

A good portion of it seems to be lots of small spaces and tight quarters, which is perfect for Junkrat! Well themed...

USA looked really weak on Horizon both days. Sure, they managed to win anyway, but compared to the other maps it just doesn't seem like they're comfortable with it enough. Any team better than Brazil would likely take it from them...if they can make it through whoever they'll face from group H, they better practice it before BlizzCon!

He "owns" a basketball team, a hockey team, an american soccer team, and even a lacrosse team in Denver. He owns an american football team in LA, and is currently building a sports complex there for them. I expect there will be space there for his Overwatch team to play, which is why it makes a lot of sense he is buying an LA spot.
His ownership of Arsenal is just a tiny bit of the sports teams he has. It would make almost no sense for him to buy a spot in London, since he really isn't invested there at all. Building that stadium in LA is a much bigger reason to be there.
He's also a terrible person. I will be cheering against his team!

There are two leagues below OWL that work as the "minor leagues", and each team can run its own tournaments to further expand the nets.

Alongside this, each team will receive licenses to run five local events a year to compliment the Open Division and Contenders

posted about 7 years ago

Yeah that's actually how I found this place. Way early on he said on stream that he couldn't remember when the next tournament he was in was, and that he looks at over.gg to remember.
I mean, it helps that it is the best place for tournament tracking.

posted about 7 years ago

Makes it sound like they'll just be rotating in DPS for his spot until OWL. Sounds like NRG will let him come back when he's ready.
Maybe he really really didn't want to travel back to Korea!

Here's a perspective from someone on the low side.
Placed 1985ish last season, high was 2029 (which was winning the first game immediately after placements), and then I fluctuated anywhere from 1650 (those were a bad couple of days) to 1900, finished at 1822.
For season 3, went 6-4 in placements. Was put at 1490. /sadtimes
I am getting more points for a win than points I'm losing for a loss, though, so that's new.
