What players are saying about other teams or players or how much better ranked is in Korea should never be a reason to put someone higher on the rankings, the only thing that should matter is the results which Lunatic-hai simply doesn't have enough of against top competition to warrant a 3rd spot on this list, I'm not biased towards the west and I do believe that they will reach top3 spot really soon but giving them one already is pointless.

The context of that quote was a discussion about why L-H's achievements in Korea are not comparable to Australian OW.

L-H are placed third on results.

They are one of only 3 teams who have beaten Rogue offline in this period:
October: Lunatic-Hai at APAC - 2-1 and 1-0 in the groups, but lost the runback in Final 1-4
September: Misfits at Overwatch Open lost 0-2 in groups, but won the EU final 3-2
August: REUNITED 2-1 in Gamescom groups, but lost the runback in the Final 1-3

REUNITED have dropped off since then which is why you see them in 8th, but L-H continue to win offline against teams below the third spot as their 3-1 over EnVy demonstrates.

Who has the offline wins over Rogue, Misfits or L-H to warrant taking third?

So because you were convinced that EnVy were the best team in the world based only on online results and that they would win Gamescom, but didn't, you are now also convinced that L-H...

• who have actually placed 2nd at an intercontinental offline event, APAC where they beat the world #1 in the groups

• who qualified for APEX from a pool of over 200 (which featured an offline round of 64)

• who have an excellent record online

... are not worthy of a top 3 spot? :thinking:

The westerners that have been to Korea are shouting from the rooftops about how the Koreans are a real threat and not to be taken lightly. The best players from the west are publicly creaming their pants about Korean talents like Miro, ryujehong, EscA etc. and even unanimously say that ranked play in Korea is far superior.

To be a dominant force in a hyper-competitive scene like Korea is no mean feat, which is what I was trying to get at in my admittedly flippant response :D

I'm always interested to talk Overwatch with you lirreboss. This whole thread is a conversation we could have easily had private, but instead we are trading rumours and half truths and incomplete perspectives because you tried to call out numlocked for what purpose?

You are right I don't know what motivates you, but your original post painted such an incomplete picture of dignitas problems that I had to assume you were actively trying to slander numlocked.

As far as I can ascertain the reason numlocked was removed was because BromaS turned everyone against him and made it an issue.

I've seen a clip of their comms where numlocked is the only calm person making calls, everyone else is basically silent apart from BromaS who is getting worked up, contradicting the calls and calling him a liar when numlocked challenges him. Environment seemed toxic af.

Sure this anecdote is just a small glimpse in to months play time together, but I find it difficult to stomach when the general theme of your original post was that numlocked was the problem. Dignitas fragging potential has been underwhelming since Gamescom. They actually didn't perform terribly at ELEAGUE with art1er demoted to support, but they were simply outclassed.

numlocked's chances of becoming an elite support caller are about as good as his fellow legendary TF2 champions KnOxXx and Zebbosai - currently the top two in the world. It's only a matter of time.

This may be surprising to some of you because of the wording in the official announcement but I wasn't cut from NRG. The roster changes were a result of me letting the org know several weeks ago that I wanted to leave the team and go in a different direction, I didn't feel like I had good synergy with the team inside or outside of the game. As far as I know it was a similar situation for Pookz but I won't speak for him. NRG is a great org and I hope to work with them in the future but something was definitely lost in translation in that announcement and I felt the need to add some clarity to the situation. Thanks for the support everyone. ^___^

As for whether Dignitas are the better judges in this case, I won't speculate because I've heard wildly varying accounts, I don't know all the details and I am biased toward numlocked anyway.

So let's set a reminder in our calendars for 3 months, 6 months and 12 months from now and revisit which team and which players have prospered. Anything else is just hot air.
