Two days after the world learned that Kyb had stepped back and would not be joining REUNITED in Korea for OGN APEX Season 1 comes the announcement of his replacement, Stefan "ONIGOD" Fiskerstrand.

A young talent to replace a young talent, 19 year old ONIGOD has already been making waves as DPS for Team Norway during the World Cup and day to day for up and comers Nordic Alpha. His reputation for playing hitscan heroes begs the question "What will REUNITED's composition look like now?" – are we going to see a role switch from vallutaja who plays a very similar hero pool? The official statement actually lists vallutaja, uNFixed and ONIGOD all as playing the DPS role...

Joining the team on a "1-month trial basis during group stages", all eyes will be on the the young Viking next week when REUNITED's APEX campaign gets underway. Here's what ONIGOD himself had to say:

"Joining Reunited is the chance I have been looking for since I started playing Overwatch. I only got the call 72 hours ago. Things have been moving really fast and I can’t believe I am actually in Korea with the team right now. I hope the fans will welcome me to the family and I look forward to showing everyone what I’ve got at OGN in this upcoming week."

Interestingly the move may have been foreshadowed in an interview with Nordic Alpha's AverageJonas on GosuGamers a few days ago:

So tell me about your training regimen. Who are your favorite teams to scrim against? What other tools do you use to improve your game?

"Our training regimen as of right now includes 30-40 hours per week of Overwatch. We spend hours looking at VODs from tournaments (our own as well as others) to find stuff we might've missed out on, and stuff to improve. I noticed that our hero pool and playstyle often looks like a rusty version of REUNITED's, so I specifically studied them to see what we could do better. I would ask ONIGOD to look at Vallutaja and Invision to look at Kyb, and ask "how can we do the same thing?" Right now we don't have any standard scrim partners, but we particularly enjoyed scrimming against Copenhagen Flames, so I really recommend them as scrim partners."
