OWL draft

OWL has had a problem since day 1. And this is incredibly apparent as the games go on. There is a very large talent gap between most teams. The fact that Orgs that bought a spot kept their teams put teams instantly at an advantage. For example- Seoul gained the rights to the Lunatic Hai roster, which was a complete, korean speaking roster that was established as the best in the world. They then used this core to seek other talents, like Fleta. Now compare this with a team like Houston. A team that started from scratch. While they are good, they are not near the top teams. This is the main problem with OWL. 6 of the teams are just their orgs team but with some additions. The top 4 teams in the league are these teams, and if Dallas actually remembers that they were once good then it will be 5. And because of this. I propose an OWL draft.

Now their would be a reward for buying a spot early. The earlier you buy, the better draft spot. So let’s say Seoul gets the first pick and gets Ryujehong. Then Miami goes and picks Taimou. So on and so forth until all teams have 6 players. Then free agency begins

Tell me what you think about this

Pretty sure contenders acts as a draft. Resetting teams seems really unnecessary. I personally think the league should shift to reward better play, to make the game seem more exciting.

This game at its core is built around teamwork. If you draft a new team every season (which I assume is what you want), then you are stifling the ability of teams to gel and reach the dizzy heights that we're seeing now. I'd much rather have a few good teams playing insanely high quality matches than many equally okay teams that play some great matches.

It's a neat idea but not for me

No. Just a draft for the inaugural season, I didn’t clarify, sorry

It would definitely be very interesting to see how it turns out if a draft was put in place. Would the teams be evenish or would a few teams end up dominating like we have now? Cool idea to be fair

Don't love the idea, but I see where you're coming from.

Drafts are difficult because all players don't speak the same language. Especially Shanghai, who seems the most in need for this draft

Aye because I'm sure in that scenario Taimou would love to be playing with a bunch of Koreans or some European like Shadowburn would love to be sitting next to 5 Chinese players. These teams had more than enough time to build a team out of what was available there's no excuses, Dallas are shit at the minute because they went for popularity over raw skill and are paying the price.
