iBuyPower and tournament organizer CEVO have postponed the Overwatch iBuyPower Fall Invite. iBuyPower has not announced new dates for the weekend cup. Six of the eight invited teams declined the $5,000 event so as to focus on the World Cup and next week's Overwatch Open -- the largest Overwatch event to date.
The invitational was originally scheduled to take place Sept 17-18. iBuyPower announced the postponement on Twitter prior to the event.
This is not the first time teams have dropped out of the cup. In the inaugural iBuyPower Summer Invite, Splyce gave up their place due to roster changes. That event saw EnVyUs topple Cloud9 3-1 in the final.
The $16,000 Counter-Strike portion of the event went according to schedule, seeing Immortals take first-place over Optic Gaming in the finals.
iBuyPower is expected to run one more seasonal invite for both Overwatch and Counter-Strike this winter in addition to the rescheduled fall event.
