general manager
Jae
has announced his retirement from esports. He cited a loss of passion in esports, as well as its effect on his mental and physical health, as reasons for his retirement.
— Jaesun Won (@jaeSW) June 7, 2020
"I’ll always be grateful for the experiences I’ve had, the players I’ve watched over, and all the various staff I’ve worked with through the years,” he said in a statement on Twitter.
He has been the Defiant’s general manager since they announced their entry into the Overwatch League as an expansion team. Beforehand, he was with Splyce, the then co-owners and operators of the Defiant before being fully acquired by OverActive Media last year.
Jae was with Splyce since 2016 as a general manager for their Overwatch team, as well as his first notable role in the competitive scene. He stayed with the org after they left the scene in 2017, starting the team’s Fighting Games Division and then later became their North American Player and Partnerships Manager.
The Defiant currently have Albless as their team manager. They also added numlocked to the team as a tank player last week after he previously joined as a coach.
