In separate Weibos, they announced the additions of DPS im37 and wanli , tank player Swon and head coach P1ko .

im37 last played for the Toronto Defiant in the Overwatch League. He was signed in the middle of the 2019 season to replace Stellar, who was retiring. After a disappointing 2-5 Stage 2 and three match loss streak in Stage 3, im37 was benched as the Defiant added Logix and Mangachu in a gradual pivot to more Western players. He was then released by the team in October.

im37 famously had little experience in the Tier 2 scene, having spent only 21 days going from the Open Division to the Overwatch League. He has only played in one Contenders match so far.

Swon was previously signed by the Florida Mayhem at the start of the 2018 offseason. He was the Mayhem's sole main tank for the first half of the regular season, during which the team saw just one match win out of 14 matches played. He was then sidelined in favour of Fate who was newly added in a four-player swap between the Mayhem and the Valiant. After playing three maps in Stage 4, Swon was released during the offseason.

Swon is a seasoned veteran with a professional career stretching back to his time on Kongdoo Panthera and Kongdoo Uncia in the first three seasons of APEX, before his stint in the Overwatch League.

This is not the first time Light Gaming has courted Overwatch League alumni. When the team was reformed last year, they added former Shanghai Dragons Roshan (now called Rubick) and Freefeel (now called xpx) in a four-man reunion of the defunct FTD Club.

The final player added by Light Gaming is DPS wanli, who previously played for LGD Gaming. He had been with LGD for a little over a year, and played with the team in both seasons of Contenders China in 2019. Both seasons that wanli played with LGD saw the team finishing in the semifinals. LGD Gaming then disbanded its Overwatch department just before the new year. Before joining LGD, wanli also played with Lucky Future.

New head coach P1ko last coached LGE.Huya. He joined the team in September ahead of the team's stint at the Gauntlet. LGE.Huya fell in the group stages after losing to Gen.G and Gladiators Legion. This will only be P1ko's second coaching stint in the Tier 2 scene and his first as a head coach. He was previously a player for Bucheon NPlus in 2017 before transitioning to coaching.

The team now has eight players on their roster, three of whom are Korean. They will be playing in the first week of Contenders Trials China after placing 5-6th in the seeding tournament that occurred in January.
