The Gauntlet champions Element Mystic Element Mystic Inactive Roxy Park Si Heon off tank Just Shin Hyun-sung (신현성) dps MN3 Yoon Jae-hee dps Kellan Kim Min-jae tank Attack Kim Jun-hwa tank Jayhun Han Ji-hun support have revealed their new roster over the last week. They have acquired three new players. In addition, they departed with flex support Undine and added a coach.

Undine joined Element Mystic in February after being with the MVP organization for nearly two years. With Element Mystic, Undine won the first season of Contenders Korea 2019 as well as the Pacific Showdown in Shanghai. He has not played a game with the team since, having been benched for the next season of Contenders and replaced by new addition MCD.

Element Mystic's new additions are DPS players choisehwan and Just , main tank Kellan and coach yesman . choisehwan played for Team Griffin (previously known as Kongdoo Panthera) prior to joining Element Mystic, while Just played for White Whale Incheon e-Sports (previously known as the Foxes). Both players played in Contenders in 2018, but failed to qualify in 2019.

Kellan is brought up from Element Mystic's academy team, EM Academy. They have played in several iterations of the Overwatch Korea Cup, but this will be Kellan's first entrance into Contenders. He will be the team's third main tank, behind Alpha and Takoyaki.

yesman was formerly a pro player in 2016, having played for Afreeca Freecs in the first season of APEX. He has now returned, joining former Spitfire head coach Coach815 on Element Mystic's coaching staff.

Element Mystic have been undergoing a busy offseason. After winning the Gauntlet in October, Element Mystic sent SP9RK1E, Xzi, hanbin and head coach Rush to the Paris Eternal, as well as Doha and assistant coach Yong to the Dallas Fuel. They signed Coach815 as their new head coach and brought up three players from their academy team to play in the NeXT tournament, but it is unknown whether the three would be staying on the main team for Contenders. Should they not stay on, Element Mystic would have seven players on the roster but is missing an off-tank player.

Element Mystic will be playing in the preliminary seeding tournament on January 6 that is preceding the new season of Contenders.
