After seeing success with a number of the SHAFT players in Dirty Bomb, esports organisation Avant Garde have signed their Overwatch team. The organisation will be hoping that its new team can match the successes of their Smite and LoL teams, and deliver on the Oceanic and world stage.
Avant Garde's new Overwatch roster
Avant were fifth in the Oceanic Overwatch Power Rankings last week, before a lack of participation in some recent cups saw them fall to eighth. This is likely to be a temporary slide though, and the team appear to be determined to cause upsets now that they are playing under a new banner.
Team manager navoJ stated in the announcement:
We are ecstatic to be with AVANT! We look forward to representing them in competitive Overwatch and with their support we are certain that we will be able to achieve our goals.
He also added:
We are very happy to be given the opportunity to be with Avant again, they are honestly making us feel like family it's very well managed and we feel it will be less stressful for the players knowing they have to only focus on the gaming side of things instead of management.
Avant Garde's general manager, Brucy, said in the announcement:
I've been talking to the guys at SHAFT for a while and I'm really excited to work with them and see what they can do. They have a great attitude towards the game and I think they will be a force to be reckoned with in the Overwatch scene!
The Avant Garde roster is:
- Tongue (Flex)
- meemum (DPS)
- TAKI (DPS)
- KS1 (Tank)
- Ruuski (Support)
- Ahren (Support)
- navoJ (Manager)
