Visibly shaken after their collapse versus Rogue the night before, Misifits showed up for the second day with a laser focus, disintegrating Luminosity Gaming in two maps. King’s Row would have been over in half the time if Misfits had defended first and whilst Luminosity looked more lively on Eichenwalde they consistently found themselves outclassed by a resurgent Misfits.
King’s Row
Mirrored comps kick things off. Attacking from the right balcony Misfits drop down, trading Ice Walls and trading ryb's Reinhardt for picks on Mannenten's Mei and EISSFELDT's Reaper. LG briefly concede ground, backing out to the archway, but then try to reengage with Ruster's Nano Reinhardt. A slick Ice Wall for Nevix denies the follow up and a lonely Ruster is promptly dealt with. However, LG fail to cut their losses and end up minus both supports as the capture comes in.
Things are going swimmingly for Misfits who have Sound Barrier advantage and 5:30 to push the streets. LG's Tseini pops Graviton on thepayload at the first corner, Zebbosai uses Barrier and Misfits survive ready to engage with SoOn poised to drop. It looks momentarily grim for the French Reaper as respawning Zave knocks him out with Sleep Dart, but a Nevix Blizzard rolls in to freeze the entirety of LG. SoOn wakes up from the nightmare and doesn't even need to burn his Blossom to wipe the defenders.
He's not done yet either; SoOn gets quick position on the catwalk above foundry, his team bait LG forward for a 4K with a plain old vanilla Blossom and meaty Hellfire follow-up - LG wipe again! Soon after, Nano Reapers trade shots and EISSFELDT burns his Blossom, but Misfits just keep the payload rolling. The curtain comes down as SoOn uses one more Death Blossom to clear the capture. Magnifique!

Compositions remain unchanged as Luminosity line out to attack. After some initial poke they commit to a push, again with Nano Boost on Ruster, but Ice Wall wastes half of it before the defensive Blizzard sweeps the point, setting up ryb for his own Rocket Hammer horror show. It almost feels like LG are telegraphing these Reinhardt pushes, but full credit to Misfits for consistently shutting them down.
In a later push Manneten lobs Mei's deadly Snowball deep into Objective A, but Misfits just rush forward to avoid the Blizzard and maul the rest of LG at statue. The next fight ends in similar fashion at the feet of Mondatta; Kryw is going H.A.M. on Zarya and LG realise they can’t win the mirror matchup, bringing out EISSFELDT on Tracer and Tseini's Genji at the last minute.
With only 15 seconds remaining they are forced to attack with ultimate disadvantage. Suddenly ryb charges in past the statue, turning heads. Earthshatters traded. EISS actually kills Hidan in the back to deny the Nano, but it doesn’t even matter. Misfits come out of the scramble with superior numbers and Tseini's Dragon Blade has arrived seconds too late to be anything more than punctuation for the end of the map. Misfits full hold.
Eichenwalde
A map down Luminosity Gaming look to Overwatch's newest map to tie up the series, opening on defence they stick with the Mei Reaper setup that has defined the tournament so far. The first real attack from Misfits commit a Graviton and Earthshatter, but are rebuffed by a crucial early Nano Boost into Earthshatter by Zave and Ruster. The action is continuous with Misfits never fully disengaging from the onslaught. Another rapidly built Graviton from Kryw catches the LG supports, SoOn Pulse Bomb and Nevix Nano Reaper wreak havoc to see Misfits unlock the payload with 4:00 to push the streets phase.
LG remember that they are one map away from going out, disregard their ult disadvantage and commit hard to wipe Misfits right in the streets entrance. The well-earned reset proves to be short-lived with LG overcommitting on a Graviton in the very next fight. As payload reaches the bridge LG dig deep to produce another scrappy team kill. The response comes in with 1:15 left; Misfits execute a magical sweeping right side rush, inside, up the stairs, exploding from battlements with a Nano Blossom from Nevix laying waste to an unsuspecting Luminosity for 4 frags.
An absolutely insane death blossom from @Nevix_OW that completely breaks the defense of Luminosity pic.twitter.com/5dH1JW7k7Y

The payload approaches the main doors, Ruster beefs an Earthshatter and Misfits make the checkpoint. Inside there is an ultimate advantage scenario for Misfits, but they play it safe, sacrificing two for the Sound Barrier force. The stage is set for their superstar Reaper again who makes the payload look more like some kind of demonic lawnmower, producing a Nano Blossom five man as he rides it home for the capture. Forrest Gump would be proud.
On defence, Nevix puts on his Stetson and passes the Reaper duties back to SoOn. LG open with an opportunistic grapple shot from Manneten, but he doesn't connect and quickly switches to Zarya. Tseini and Zave take to the skies as Pharah-Mercy with damage boosted rockets yielding immediate results. Nevix's McCree can't deal with both the airborne threat and the harassment from Tracer / Winston; seems like LG have taken Objective A convincingly.
Not quite though, as a ridiculous play unfolds that should never have worked in a million years. Zebbosai's solo Lucio comes barrelling in from spawn, past the cluster of LG players on the point, turning heads and stalling the capture. SoOn busts in and shreds Ruster's Reinhardt who had dropped his shield, overestimating his own hammer prowess. Nevix pops in and domes EISSFELDT's Tracer and as the carnage unfolds below Tseini unleashes a Barrage to purge the point, but Kryw plucks him from the air with a perfectly lobbed right click - somehow Misfits are still in control of Point A.
Kryw continues to go absolutely berserk in the following engagement, almost singlehandedly killing off the entire team using every tool at his disposal, max energy and a Nano Boost to boot. Everyone on Misfits is stepping up. Hidan on Ana kills two and Nano-saves ryb from Ruster, allowing for ryb's shield work to deny an EISSFELDT Pulse Bomb like some battle scene from the 300. Misfits are eventually overwhelmed.
LG only have 2:20 to push the streets after a very late capture of Objective A, when from the highest perch in the map a deathly raven by the name of SoOn swoops in to the backline for a disgusting 5K Nano Blossom that surely should have been called. LG rally back with a Graviton Bomb combo for three frags of their own, but almost immediately Nevix's Tracer gets a ridiculous solo triple kill with her Pulse Bomb. Luminosity have barely even made it out of the gatehouse yet.
The action continues and LG are in an overtime push across the bridge. Ruster hits a big Earthshatter leaving only Nevix alive on Tracer, but the jukes are insane as he dodges around the payload and the masonry with Blinks and Rewinds. It's up to Tseini to finally secure the capture with a Dragon Blade earning LG an additional 1:25 to push to completion. Misfits stall out with Nano SoOn and LG with a clear opportunity send in Nano-hardt, but Ruster comes out emptyhanded. A dejected LG are forcibly removed from the payload and the tournament as Misfits win out to take the series 2-0.
As the dust settles on an insanely action packed game Luminosity Gaming pick up $6,000, finishing 5th-6th place for the European Region. Misfits progress to face Ninjas in Pyjamas in the regional Semi-Finals.
